Visit to my Roots
The message I put out in the last Newsletter with regards to connections with Brassett's in USA, Canada prompted the following response from Helen Medeiros who is in Bermuda
'We, the BRASSET's of Canada, Columbia and Bermuda ARE related to the Brasset's of Louisiana, U.S.A. They, like us, spell it with one "T" and pronounce it, like we do, as Brass-Say.
I have never met or been in touch with our family there but would be interested in doing so. As I probably told you some time ago, our Dad, Robert George Albert Brasset and our Mom, Amelia Mac Donald Brasset had 11 children.
We are, Robert, Michael, David, Donald, Maureen (Coyne), Edmund, Helen (Medeiros), Jimmy, Jeane (Rogers), Elizabeth (Sokolowski) and Bill Brasset. Ages ranging from 60 plus to 40 plus years. We all have many children so I believe that there are 30 plus grandchildren and about 12 or so great-grandchildren.
Even though there may be a very distant connection and other Information connecting us would be appreciated, I know we do have some different spelling so being pronounced different should not be to far away either.

Passing On Information
Looking for connection's to Alice Brassett born 9th December 1776, she married Isaac Linnell 7th May 1797, died 23rd August 1819, Alice is the daughter of Thomas Brassett and Sarah Hemmings.
Thomas had two brothers John Brassett married Mary Tomkins, they had a daughter Eleanor Brassett who later married Isaac Linnell after her cousin Alice died.
The other brother was Charles Brassett not much is know of him at present
Yvonne Marshall in Melbourne, Australia has been looking into Alice and with a great amount of assistance from Rob Linnell has come up with the above information, If anyone has further Info to add please pass it on to Yvonne
ymarshall@bigpond.comFrom a recent Family Tree sent to me from Angela Brassett, James Thomas Hinds who she traces her family back to had three sisters Mary Eleanor, Mary Alice and Louise.
There also seems to be a stop in this family tree at John Brassett b 1751 d 1806 or 1807 depending on who's information you look at.
Does anyone have anything on this section of the Brassett Family before 1751.
Rob Linnell, Yvonne Marshall, Angela, Jamie and Suzanne Brassett, Sylvia Gorbell are all checking this part of the family can anyone else help
I have only re-produced a very small part of the tree for this part of the family, just trying to help things along at this point. Robert, and Yvonne have more information and do connect up at this point with Angela, Jamie, Sylvia etc.
James Thomas Hinds had 11 children. There are plenty of other connection out there still to be found
This is a repeat request from he last newsletter, Sylvia Gorbell has helped out and found a contact for a couple of the Brassett's on this list , but does anyone else have information on this section that could help me.

What's the best way to make
1st Contact
(as Star Trek call it)
This is not an alien race it a possible relative, they have the same name as you, so does that make it easier.
I have found that letters do get a response, it did for me, Email helps a great deal, But what if you only have a phone number ?
Let me know
